Welcome!

Agriturismo Preggio

scritta preggio

An exclusive agriturismo in Umbria, set in the rolling green hills between Tuscany and Lake Trasimeno. A genuine working farm, swimming pool, restaurant. And plenty of privacy.

who we are

“Halfway down the drive, we’d already decided this was the most beautiful place on earth.”

So it goes that two northern Italians, driving down to Umbria with the standard romantic idea of the place (we weren’t exactly original), and having just bumped along two and a half kilometres of dirt track, decide to change their lives. They simply can’t shake off the idea that struck them the moment they arrived in Preggio. It was June 2006.

01

The Farm

An unspoilt haven of vineyards, olive groves and woodland.

Welcome to a 90-hectare estate where nature sets the pace. Sitting at 500 metres above sea level with a happy southern exposure, our farm produces wine, oil and honey in a setting entirely free from pesticides and industrial cultivation. The air here is pure, and the trails through the surrounding woods invite long, restorative walks.

02

Rolling Up Our Sleeves

Three hours in the kitchen with Elena, learning to make fresh pasta that’s actually good — even once you’re back home, using the tools you already have. Maximum four people. At lunch we sit down at the table and eat what we’ve cooked.

03

A Morning with the Bees

Beekeeper’s suit and 90 minutes alongside Elena, in front of a hive opened for real — not in front of a super-organism poster. Maximum four guests. We close with a tasting of Preggio’s honeys of the moment, chosen by the bees more than by us.

04

Sun, Water, Power

Renewable energy in Umbria, explained by people who actually use it.

Bruno walks you through how we solved the energy problems of a working farm that runs twelve months a year: photovoltaic, heat pump, solar thermal, rainwater collection. No green sermon, just the real numbers and the design choices behind each system. Two hours on foot, group of four.

The Restaurant

A five-course tasting menu, made entirely from what we grow

paired with four of our own wines

Forget “zero kilometre”. At Preggio we’re at zero metres. Every ingredient comes straight from our kitchen garden and our own animals to compose a tasting menu that follows the rhythm of the seasons, also available in a vegetarian version. An intimate, secluded atmosphere awaits a small number of guests, where excellence meets the quiet of our working farm. To preserve this exclusivity, booking is required.

Services & Activities

The best way to spend your time here at Preggio is to do absolutely nothing. Nothing at all. Not a thing. The pool, a book and a good glass of wine are all you need to unwind. After all, this is the country where il dolce far niente was born, isn’t it?

Poolside relaxation

Slip into the blue of our pool, designed for maximum comfort and safety with a maximum depth of 140 cm. Stretch out on our sun loungers and let your gaze drift off into the endless view over the valley: the perfect place to switch off.

The raised kitchen garden

Come and discover our raised kitchen garden, a corner of orderly, productive nature. Wander among the scents of the earth and, if gardening is your passion, let Elena show you the way: she’ll be happy to share all the advice you need to recreate a similar garden at home.

Energy for your journey

We think about your convenience and the environment. We offer our guests an electric vehicle charging service located right in our car park. The station, with up to 22kW three-phase power, will let you set off each morning with a full charge.

Discovering Preggio

Our village is a small medieval gem suspended in time, rich in history and authentic charm. We invite you to lose yourself among its alleyways and explore its traditions by visiting the village’s official website for events and curiosities curated by the Pro Loco.

A strategic location, endless discoveries
