The Restaurant

An experience tailored to you

Our farmhouse restaurant in Umbria has no à la carte menu. There is one single Percorso Gastronomico — a five-course tasting menu built around the seasons and around what our farm produces in that moment. Seats are few, and reservations are always required at least a day in advance — both for guests staying with us and for people coming only for dinner.

Almost everything comes from here

Vegetables from our kitchen garden, meat from our own livestock, wine, olive oil, honey: nearly all of what reaches the table is grown or made on the estate, in the Umbrian hills, just a few metres from the kitchen. The few ingredients we can’t produce ourselves, we choose with the same care we put into our own. It’s a real short supply chain — the kind you live, not the kind you advertise.

A menu that follows the garden

The Percorso Gastronomico changes with the seasons — and sometimes within the same season, depending on what the garden offers that week. It isn’t a stylistic choice: it’s the most honest way to cook what grows behind the house. That’s why no two dinners are quite the same, and why we don’t publish a fixed menu — Elena will tell you the courses of the evening at the table.

Vegetarian, allergies, intolerances

The Percorso Gastronomico also exists in a vegetarian version, built with the same care as the main menu — because a farmhouse restaurant in Umbria doesn’t have to mean “meat by default”. For allergies and intolerances, just let us know when you book: Elena builds your Percorso around your needs.

Paired with our own wines

The Percorso is paired with four of our wines, chosen to converse with each course. If you don’t drink alcohol — by choice, by taste, or simply because you don’t feel like it that evening — the Percorso also exists without the wine pairing, and remains a complete experience on its own.

Frequently asked questions about our farmhouse restaurant in Umbria

What’s worth knowing before you book

Can I dine at the restaurant without staying at the agriturismo?

Yes. The restaurant at Agriturismo Preggio is open to non-resident guests as well, with booking required at least the day before. Seats are few, and a reservation is always required — for guests staying with us and for people coming only for dinner.

Are you open for lunch?

No. The restaurant at Agriturismo Preggio is open in the evening only. Daytime is for the farm, which is what allows us to offer a menu built almost entirely from our own produce.

How much does the Percorso Gastronomico cost?

The five-course Percorso Gastronomico costs €85 per person with four of our wines paired, or €65 per person without the wine pairing. It is the only dining option we offer.

Can I order à la carte?

No. There is no à la carte menu at Preggio: we serve one single Percorso Gastronomico, a five-course tasting menu built by Elena around the seasons and around what our farm produces that day.

What ingredients do you use?

Almost all of the ingredients come from our own farm in Umbria, just a few metres from the kitchen: vegetables from the garden, meat from our livestock, wine, olive oil, honey. The few we can’t produce ourselves, we select with the same care we put into our own.

Does the menu change often?

Yes. The Percorso Gastronomico changes with the seasons, and can also change within the same season, depending on what the garden offers that week. We don’t publish a fixed menu: Elena tells you the dishes of the evening at the table.

Is there a vegetarian tasting menu?

Yes. The Percorso Gastronomico also exists in a vegetarian version, built with the same care as the main menu. Please request it when you book.

Can I have the tasting menu without the wine pairing?

Yes. The Percorso comes in a wine-paired version (four of our wines, €85) and a wine-free version (€65), designed for guests who don’t drink alcohol or prefer to taste the courses on their own.

Can I flag allergies or intolerances?

Yes. Allergies and intolerances should be mentioned when you book: Elena builds your Percorso around your needs.

Are children welcome?

Technically, yes — but the Percorso Gastronomico isn’t designed for children, neither in its courses nor in its evening setting. We leave that call to parents.

How many seats are there? Is the restaurant crowded?

The restaurant at Agriturismo Preggio has a maximum of ten seats, by choice. It’s a setting designed for privacy, not for volume: no noisy rooms, no tables pushed together. In low season or mid-week, it can even happen that the room is occupied by a single couple: Elena cooks the Percorso Gastronomico even for two people, because a farmhouse that runs a restaurant isn’t a restaurant that opens only when it suits.

Can you host small private events?

Yes. The ten total seats make the restaurant the right setting for small private occasions: anniversaries, birthdays, surprise dinners, marriage proposals. We don’t host large events or banquets — that isn’t our model — but for anyone looking for a private dinner in Umbria with very small numbers, we’re the right address.
